Meet the Artist!
Hi, I’m Jennifer, or Jeniblue, as my friends call me. I’m a very
creative person. Can’t help it. I was really close to my grandmother,
Pearl, and she was an artist/actress. I have several cousins, as well, that
are artistic in different fields.
I write song lyrics, screenplays, and act mostly on stage, but painting is my
therapy. If I’m having a crazy day I know I can go outside and throw some
paint around to alleviate the stress.
I buy a big painter’s cloth and spread it on the patio, to protect it
from spills or splatters, and then I take my canvas and lay it flat on the cloth.
I gather my paint, my painter’s sticks, my boom box, and my Diet Coke,
and I’m ready to roll.
Music is very important in my process. I really believe it dictates how I feel
and what colors I use and my mood for the painting, not to mention the mood
of the artist.
I have a lot of trees in my backyard so sometimes Mother Nature will add her
creative touches by blowing a leaf or two into my wet paint. I don’t mind.
I just leave it there. The last thing I want to do is argue with her.
Anyway, I mix the color with the stick and drip and splatter the paint off the
stick onto the canvas. I only use a brush for priming the canvas before I start.
I have to paint outside because of the mess and the weather isn’t always
on my side. I’m lucky to be in California.
The good Lord gave me this gift so the least I can do is share it with people.
I hope you like my gallery. If there is any painting you’d like, only
in a different color, I can create one just for you with your own favorite colors
in a size to fit your own favorite room. Just let me know.
Thanks for visiting. I’d love to hear from you!
God Bless.
